Wow! What an experience. I'm not a fine dining type of guy but it was my fiancé and I's 6 year anniversary. I wanted to do something special so I booked a reservation and anticipated this evening for a few months. They have valet parking AND self parking which is incredible in downtown (although self parking ended up being almost as much as valet so might as well go that route). Customer service is top notch from the valet guy, to the front desk, all the way to the elevator men. I was told "happy anniversary" by at leastj 4 different staff members. Amazing! Once we enter, the service is as amazing as the ambiance. We got there a bit early and went to the bar. Once we were escorted to the table, everything was perfection til end. Gabriel the manager was amazing and ensured we had the best anniversary dinner ever. I believe reservations are necessary for dining but you can walk in for the bar top. I hate driving/being in downtown LA but may have to come back to have a few drinks with the amazing views and service. Oh, the grilled octopus was ridiculously delicious

7th Anniversary Celebration. We had a truly lovely and memorable evening. Truthfully, this is a must visit restaurant just for the views alone. Okay, I love to give 5-star reviews.... BUT - I think you have to grade these restaurants on a difficulty scale... it ain't burgers, you know?! Here we go: DRINKS: The Montebello: 5/5 Excellent The Downtown: 3/5 tasted like alcohol Food: Bread Basket: 2/5 Octopus: 4/5 Pork Dish: 5/5 Excellent Cheese Plate: 3/5 Service: 2/5 (uninspired, distracted) Price: reasonable for the value. Might give 3 stars if it weren't for the views!

We celebrated our 13 year wedding anniversary and this was our first time at this restaurant. Superb!!!!!! It's on the 71st floor so you have to take 2 elevators up. We arrived early for our reservation so we had a drink at the bar. I had a mojito and it was freaking and delicious. We were seated at our reservation time and immediately greeted by a waiter named Jay (I think). He was very kind, a delight to speak to and an excellent server. We ordered bread (you always have to have some bread) lol. So yummy. They serve a 3 course meal. We had the fresh farm salad and prawns for the first course. Steak and salmon for the second course, and 2 desserts. Everything was excellent!!! The desserts were a different taste than what I'm used to but I still enjoyed them. The restaurant prices were standard to many other restaurants but everything was amazing. The views!!!! OMG! Overlooks all Of Los Angeles. Service 10/10 Views 10/10 Food 9/10 Overall 10/10. Would I go back? Absolutely.

71 above did a great job making our anniversary romantic!! Everything was so well done. I didn't really expect the food, but it was remarkably delicious!! The service was excellent. Definitely come back on a special occasion again!

You have to go at least once. The food is pretty good and all but you're really paying for that insane view while you eat (worth it). I recommend coming for a special occasion, it's very romantic too.

You don't realize how high up you are until you're pressed against the glass admiring the view! This place is beautiful and thoughtfully structured. I came for a work dinner and was ushered to their private dining area where we had our own servers. It was a 3 course meal and all I can say is that my taste buds have been deprived of a solid, delicious, and satisfying meal! I enjoyed every single bite of everything I had. The staff was professional and it felt so nice to be taken well care of. I'd love to return again. Parking was a bit wild but that's DTLA for you. Luckily I found street parking across the street in front of the public library. As always, make sure to read signs when in this area. It's super tricky!

My boyfriend surprised me by making reservations to celebrate our anniversary. I was happy to find out where we were dining as soon as we entered the lobby. You will be checking in with the host as soon as you walk in the building. You will then be guided by security to take the assigned elevator. Located on the 71st floor of the US Bank Tower, 71 above offers panoramic views of Los Angeles! The romantic atmosphere, excellent service and unique experience makes this the perfect place to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, engagements etc.. The menu offers a 3 course meal that is priced right around $100 per person. Yes, it can definitely add up but in my opinion, it's totally worth it. We started off with the bread service. For our first meal we had the grilled octopus and chilled asparagus. Our second meal was the Bacon Wrapped pork loin and grilled ribeye. Lastly, our third meals were our desserts, spiced carrot granita and smoked chocolate marquise. Our waiter was very helpful, explained the menu precisely and answered our questions. Reservations are required, so plan accordingly. They also offer private dining for special events with private dining rooms overlooking Dodger Stadium. We had such a great experience and plan to come back.

Just want to start off by saying this was hands down , one of my best experiences dining at a restaurant ever . Everything about this place is just top notch , from the food , the service , and the ambiance . I came here to celebrate my anniversary with my girlfriend , and both of us were blown away . The food was excellent , I myself had the the Ricotta Gnudi for my first course , for my second course I had the A5 Wagyu Filet mignon , but I can't recall what I had for dessert , but nonetheless , I was beyond satisfied with all dishes . I WANT THIS TO BE KNOWN ! The service , was absolute TOP NOTCH , my server Bulmaro M , was one of the most professional , kind , and genuine person I've ever met . His service was the best I've received ever. His professionalism, down to his recommendations , and even the fact that he was willing to take some pictures for me and my girlfriend just topped everything off . I want to give a VERY, VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO BULMARO M FOR HIS PROFESSIONALISM , and his very outstanding work . The vibes set off by him and the overall view and atmosphere of 71Above , has to be the best of the best ever !

Upon meticulous consideration, I have opted for an establishment renowned for its curated course menu, diverging from the allure of the Intercontinental rooftop on the 73rd floor. The choice was steered by a predilection for gastronomic exploration over panoramic vistas. From the outset, the experience was punctuated by the graciousness of the valet, setting the tone for an evening of refined hospitality. Ascending the private elevator, shrouded in darkness, the anticipation mingled with trepidation, only to dissipate upon entering the exuberant ambiance of the restaurant. Attentive servers, clad in immaculate uniforms, navigated the meticulously designed interior with poise and precision. Securing a coveted window table necessitated a swift maneuver, as such prime spots were not held for reservation. Nonetheless, the expansive views from any vantage point offered a picturesque backdrop to the culinary journey. Libations commenced the evening, albeit lacking in novelty, with gin and cognac-based concoctions that failed to elicit excitement. The sesame brown bread accompanied by cured butter provided a promising start, preceding the first course of grilled octopus and king prawns, presented with contemporary flair but lacking in transformative flavors. The entrees, comprising succulent young chicken and rib eye, unveiled a mixed verdict. While the chicken breast exuded juiciness, the promised crispiness of the skin fell short of expectations, while the eggplant accompaniment suffered from an overly robust texture. Conversely, the rib eye steak delivered a satisfactory rendition, albeit without reaching culinary heights. Concluding the gastronomic odyssey with dessert, the chocolate cake and lemon cupcake with pickled orange exemplified commendable craftsmanship, albeit without transcending into the realm of culinary revelation. However, it was the unparalleled service and attention to detail that emerged as the undisputed highlight of the evening, overshadowing any culinary shortcomings. Acknowledgment is due to the adept staff and courteous servers, whose impeccable service elevated the dining experience to an unforgettable affair. The provision of a coat hanger further exemplified the establishment's commitment to ensuring the utmost comfort and convenience of its patrons. In summation, while the culinary offerings may not have attained excellence, the ambiance, coupled with unparalleled service, renders this establishment a veritable gem amidst the lofty heights of LA's dining scene.
